Casas da Corujeira

Recovery of a set of housing units built in the 19th century, for migrants from lands in the North of the country. This concept allows for a small budget to solve the housing problem, although with substantiating very low hygiene conditions and very small areas. There were rows of houses, in small, earthy houses, built on a three-story stretch of generally deep land, of burgundy houses. Due to the imbalance between housing supply and supply, this was the solution that better adapted to the city's morphology as Porto experienced a climate of industrial euphoria that attracted the city's rural populations. On the “island” I built a common identity, a space of resistance and socialization even for the poorest people, and also of familiarity and support for our acquaintances and friends. This restoration allows you to take advantage of the city's familiar and traditional atmosphere, combining the existing architecture with a new design, and better access to indoor and outdoor areas.
